Back to Questions My toilet tank sweats a lot, what do I do?

This generally happens in our area in the late winter and early spring when the incoming water is colder and there is more humidity.

Many bathrooms don’t have adequate ventilation and the combination of cold water in the toilet tank and warm moist air in the room create condensation on the outside of the tank.

To alleviate the problem you can install an adequate bathroom fan and make sure to use it!  Also there are toilets made that have a lining to insulate the cold water from the air in the room and there are insulation kits to do it yourself.

If you need more help, go into Bill's Plumbing and ask one of their specialists, or email your question. One of Bill's specialists will get a prompt answer to you, often by the next day!
