Back to Questions If I have a septic tank, can I install a garbage disposal?

images/septictreat.jpg (17619 bytes).
Garbage disposals grind up food waste well enough, in most cases, that there is no problem with allowing them to dump waste into a septic tank.

Any problems that might arise can be corrected by adding a septic treatment every six months to increase the bacteria that breakdown the septic waste.
