Back to Questions Someone told me I couldn't use plumber's putty to seal my drain on our new cultured marble vanity top. Why is that?

Plumber's putty has oil in it that seems to cause, over a period of time, the cultured marble to check and/or crack.  We recommend the use of silicone caulk instead.
