Back to Questions My water is way too hot. I keep turning the thermostat down, but it's still too hot.

The most common cause of this problem is a thermostat, either the upper or lower that has stuck.  If the water heater is electric, replace both thermostats.  On a gas water heater, replace the gas valve.
